Dr. Cherie Washington is a renowned national leadership development coach with extensive experience in public school administration. As the Chief of Student Services at Fort Worth ISD, Dr. Washington led the Student Support Services by providing a comprehensive network of coordinated programs and interventions that supported the health, well-being, and academic success of all students. In this role, she oversaw professional staff who facilitated a wide range of programs and activities during and after school, addressing fundamental social, emotional, interpersonal, and physiological barriers in students’ educational journeys.


Dr. Washington’s expertise in leadership development is demonstrated through her strategic direction and mentorship of educational leaders. She is adept at cultivating leadership skills, enhancing team dynamics, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Prior to her role as Chief of Student Services, Dr. Washington served as the Chief of Secondary Schools, where she directly supported 55 schools. She worked collaboratively with Directors and Principals to increase student academic achievement and provide tailored instructional and operational support to meet the unique needs of each campus.

With 12 years of teaching experience, Dr. Washington has also served as an Assistant Principal for 3 years, a Middle School Principal for 4 years, and a High School Principal for 3 years. Her comprehensive background in education and her commitment to leadership development make her a highly effective coach and mentor for public school leaders. Dr. Washington’s ability to build strong, supportive relationships with educators and her dedication to fostering leadership at all levels have significantly contributed to the success of the schools and districts she has served.
